In 2008, the U sponsored
the exciting Maryland Summer
League, a unique
playing/practicing high-school summer league, designed for & developed by
high-school teams & coaches. The competition was great – just
to name a few teams from last year, Catonsville, Urbana, Winters Mill, Marriotts
Ridge, Liberty.
Originally designed for
public schools as a result
of the 2008 MPSSAA ruling
allowing public school
coaches to coach in the
summer, The
Maryland Summer League
2009 Showcase has expanded
this year for both public
schools and private schools. 2009
brings an even better format,
new field venues centrally
located in Howard County,
the same number of games
but in ½ the number
of weeks (so the energy
does not die off), college
coaches participation and
attendance at the finishing
2-day Recruiting Tournament
July 8th and 9th.
